Kundan And Polki Jewellery

Now a days Kundan and Polki is a bridal trend. How many of us can actually identify what work it has?

Polki Jewellery

Polki is a stone. Polki jewellery is made from natural diamonds that haven't been faceted. Polki is a genuine, uncut diamond that is mined from the earth without being enhanced or created in a lab. Polki jewellery is manufactured with a gold foil the diamonds studded in between that reflect light. Because it is raw and generally untreated, it has a high market demand, making it pricey.

Kundan Jewellery

Kundan is a type of gold jewellery that generally includes a kundan stone. The name 'kundan' refers to highly refined pure gold, and most of this form of jewellery is made of 24k gold. Kundan jewellery is one of India's oldest types of jewellery, having a history dating back over 2,500 years.

How is Kundan Jewellery Different from Polki?

Both Kundan and Polki are stones. Kundan jewellery is made with gemstones and glass, whereas Polki is made with uncut, raw diamonds that have not been processed.

Kundan is a type of traditional Rajasthani jewellery composed of glass stones (glass polki). Kundan is typically less costly than Polki because of the gold-inlaid stones. The only difference in appearance between polki and kundan is that polki has a higher lustrous than kundan. It's also lighter because it's not made of raw stones.
